Hey everyone, sorry I haven’t posted a new challenge in awhile - I had drawn one out of a hat (okay a box) awhile back and forgot to post it so here it goes…

The new Quotidian Artistry challenge theme is…

Space

Now, that could mean outerspace (including everyones favorite film category of science fiction, amiright?) or like space as in uh… *Googles exact definition*

“A continuous area or expanse that is free, available, or unoccupied: “he backed out of the parking space”. “

Well that’s much better than the way I would have phrased it (“all that empty stuff in the stuff in the places.”)

So good luck everyone :D! I look forward to see lots of challenges completed!

Alright everyone, the second official Quotidian Artistry challenge is being issue today! Repeating the rules from the last post; once the theme/challenge is posted please try to get them done sometime within two weeks of the date the challenge was issued. As always, you are free to interpret the challenge word any way you want and have some fun with it!

The theme for challenge number two is…

Pride

One of the seven deadly sins? A pack of lions? It can mean anything you want it to mean! Let’s see some more of the awesome creativity we’ve seen with the first challenge!

Everyone, meet Snowball. He’s a velociraptor that likes to hang out in bars and talk to people. He’s been kicking around in my mind for a while, and I decided to do a quick sketch of him chatting with an unsuspecting patron. He’s the touchy feely type.

Okay so my scanner isn’t working so here’s a picture from my phone of my drawing…

For the dinosaur challenge I decided to draw the king of nastiness himself, Bowser. Whether he’s a dinosaur or an overgrown turtle, I don’t honestly know, but I’m going with badass dino.

That said, he’s not so badass in the drawing. My goal was to draw a beat-down, broken, bloodied and battle-scarred Bowser, down on his knees. I tried to make the background look fiery&smoky, Koopa Kingdom being burned down by the one and only Mario brothers.

I think in my mind that if a villain has been beaten so many freaking times… He’s gotta’ either break down or go insane at some point. Or both.

Anyhow, found my sketchbook today and started doodling, I’m a little disappointed by the front left (right on the page) leg, it didn’t turn out quiet how I wanted it to once I finished it and since this is a mix of pencil and charcoal it’s… Pretty impossible to erase at this point.

@Adm_Hawthorne was nice enough to let me borrow her personal trainer, Carbs the Raptor, as my model for the first Quotidian Artistry challenge. The word was “Dinosaurs,” and in true kjdawson80 fashion, I decided to class it up a bit by drawing a velociraptor with a monocle, a nice cuppa, and some SPATS.

SPATS.

This took about an hour, with lots of ref (especially for the SPATS <3). Done on with pencil and paper!

Questions, feedback, comments? Wanna ask him out for a date?

Alright guys, like I said I would be pulling random cards to choose a theme/challenge for us to draw. The rules are once the theme/challenge is posted we should try to get them done sometime within two weeks of the date of issuing the challenge. Dinosaurs

For example; this doesn’t have to just be about drawing the actual *dinosaurs* of a paleontologists dream world, but can also be about allowing yourself to think outside the box. Or of course, drawing actual dinosaurs - it’s all up to you - just remember it’s open to your imagination~!

Hey everyone, JediJayne here. I’ve had a tablet for a year now and Photoshop for even longer and I realized tonight I’ve never sat down with no goal and just doodled freehand in Photoshop for fun. So I figured why not just be silly tonight and enjoy doodling. An hour in Photoshop, all on one layer just because.

Edit; per suggestion moved up the ear&hairline a bit :)

Hello everyone, I’m @EsileSonia! I recently purchased a Wacom Cintiq 12WX tablet and I’m still learning how to use it. Lately I’ve been doing sketches with some flat colors added in like this one. You can see more of my work on my personal Tumblr or my deviantArt account.
